Negative News Analytical Agent

🎯 Functional documentation

The Negative News Analytical Agent V2 due diligence provider performs an AI-driven analysis of individuals or companies using Perplexity AI. It scans and evaluates relevant articles available on the internet based on the provided party information, determines whether the party is considered at risk, and generates a comprehensive due diligence report including reference links to the analyzed sources.

Compared to V1, V2 supports additional query parameters, and allows sending optional contextual attributes in the request body.

Input data points

  • Individual
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Country of address
    • Nationality (optional request body attribute)
    • Date of birth (optional request body attribute, formatted as MM/DD/YYYY)
  • Company
    • Name
    • Country of address
    • Siren number (optional request body attribute, taken from company metadata field when available)

Due Diligence

This provider supports due diligence for the following party types:

  • Individual
  • Company

The provider returns a HIT when the agent response is not null and has the is_at_risk parameter set to Yes.

The response structure is largely the same as V1, but V2 additionally exposes risk_assessment.risk_level.

Query parameters

Required query parameters

  • Individual
    • first_name
    • last_name
  • Company
    • company_name

Optional query parameters

  • lang_iso2
  • country_iso2 (taken from country of address field when available)
  • since_date
  • before_date
  • recency_filter
  • preset
  • model
  • max_output_tokens
  • agent_id
info

recency_filter cannot be used together with since_date or before_date. When since_date or before_date is configured, recency_filter must not be sent.

:::note Automatic date calculation for scheduled/automated checks (This feature is only available from product version 17) When this provider is executed by a scheduler or automation (i.e. not a manual check triggered by a user), the since_date and before_date are automatically calculated and override any configured values:

  • since_date is set to the timeUpdated of the previous provider result for the party being checked.
  • before_date is always set to today's date.
  • Any configured recency_filter is cleared.

If no previous provider result exists (i.e. this is the first execution for a given party), since_date is left blank (no lower bound) and before_date is set to today, so the API searches across all available history up to today.

This means that when running this provider daily via automation, each execution will only fetch news articles published since the last check. :::

Request body

V2 supports an optional JSON request body with contextual search attributes:

  • Individual
    • attributes.nationality
    • attributes.date_of_birth
  • Company
    • attributes.company
    • attributes.siren

Document Generation

When configured, this provider generates a PDF document from the response received from the Analytical Agent. PDF generation occurs during both manual due diligence checks and re-screening.

There are two possible outcomes when generating the PDF:

  • If the new result is considered expired then → A new PDF document is created
  • If the new result is not considered expired then → The existing PDF document is overwritten with the updated content

Result Expiration Rules

A result is evaluated as expired or not expired based on the following scenarios:

  • The result is considered expired if one of the following conditions is met:

    • The due diligence status has changed between previous and current response from the API, e.g.
      • NO_HIT → HIT
      • HIT → NO_HIT
    • has_new_information = Yes (new information present) & the related provider setting is true
      • for HIT → HIT, the related provider setting is EXPIRATION_HIT
      • for NO_HIT → NO_HIT, the related provider setting is EXPIRATION_NO_HIT
  • The result is considered not expired if the due diligence status remains the same between previous and current response from the API and one of the following conditions is met:

    • has_new_information = No (no new information present)
    • has_new_information = Yes (new information present) & the related provider setting is false
      • for HIT → HIT, the related provider setting is EXPIRATION_HIT
      • for NO_HIT → NO_HIT, the related provider setting is EXPIRATION_NO_HIT
